As the owner of Joti Financial and a Finance Broker, Kim is passionate about creating a company that is centred around making the lives of her clients better. However, she doesn’t want to stop there and is creating a company that helps not only her clients but the community around them. This is why when she started Joti Financial, it was on the premise that she would work with local charities, donating funds from the commission that the company earns from every mortgage.
After spending 14 years in the UK, Kim, her husband and their son decided to make the move back to Australia to be with family and to give their family a better quality of life.
Once her feet were firmly grounded (back) on Australian soil once again, Kim accepted a role with a well-established, family-owned multidisciplinary firm in Geelong that at the time, was home to Accounting, Financial Advisory and also Legal services. She took on the role of Business Manager and took every challenge in her stride. From managing teams to managing bringing two offices together and then moving into a bigger office – there was nothing that she wasn’t up for the challenge of.
Always having a calling to go back into the Mortgage Broking business, Kim parted ways after two years as Business Manager and went headfirst into her studies to obtain her Certificate IV Finance & Mortgage Broking as well as her Diploma in Finance + Mortgage Broking Management to be able to get her foot back in the door as a Mortgage Broker and since then, she has worked tirelessly for her clients to provide them with exceptional service as a mortgage broker with Aussie Home Loans.
Kim loves working with clients who are real people, that are looking for advice and care about relationships. When a client comes into see her for the first time, you will often here her ask … “how can I help?”…and then she listens. For Kim, listening is the most important thing about mortgage broking, because she believes that when you truly listen, you get to know someone. And when you know someone, then you can understand how best to help them.
Speaking to Kim, you will soon learn that she is passionate about mortgage broking. When asked why, she was quick to answer…
“I know the value of “home” and how incredible it is to walk through your home for the first time, to look around and realise that the home you are standing is yours. That’s the feeling that I want for each and every one of my clients.”
In her spare time, Kim loves working on their old weatherboard home as her and her husband slowly work at bringing it back to its former glory. And when she’s not working on renovations, you will find her taking a Pilates or Yoga class, or cooking in the kitchen with her son.
